Molecular Trace Analysis with Gold Nanoparticle Dimers Formed by DNA Origami Technique

We propose a method for forming gold nanoparticle (AuNP) dimers for surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) by DNA origami nanostructure. Two AuNPs were fixed on the counter faces of a DNA origami structure, and the DNA origami was then removed from the silicon chip. Finally, AuNP dimers with nanoscale gap was successfully formed. In molecular trace analysis, SERS signals from the target molecular dissolved in water at a low concentration were successfully detected.
